08-January-2026 – OpenAFS 1.8.15pre1 – First beta for the next stable release for UNIX/Linux
OpenAFS 1.8.15pre1 is the first beta for the next stable release of OpenAFS for UNIX/Linux systems. It adds support for Linux mainline kernels through 6.17, begins the process of removing the generically named “lock.h” file from /usr/include/, fixes some information-leakage scenarios in the protection server and fileserver, fixes a few potential race conditions that could lead to spurious errors, and other improvements.
